Many people who provide "round the clock" assistance to
others find that Respite services are very helpful. Just a few
hours each week can provide a valuable break from the
physical and emotional demands of caregiving. Financial
assistance in the form of a monthly stipend may also be
available to caregivers of elders who have limited income
and require constant supervision/assistance.

Some people may find that their service needs can be met
through private-pay resources. Others find that home and
community based services are more appropriate to meet
their needs.

Anyone who would like more information concerning elder
care services and/or support for caregivers may contact the
Elder Helpline at 1 (800) 96-ELDER/1 (800) 963-5337. The
Information and Referral Specialists will be glad to discuss
areas of concern and specific services, support groups, and
other resources which may prove beneficial.
